June 27, 2025 — Rising star Yung Kai just released his latest single, “My Light (Wo de Guang 我的光)”, a heartfelt bilingual track that blends English and Mandarin to capture the warmth of feeling seen and loved.
Who Is Yung Kai?
Yung Kai is a 22-year-old Chinese-Canadian singer-songwriter whose viral single “Blue” has racked up over one billion streams across music platforms as of June 4, 2025.Written while watching cdrama "When I Fly Towards You" with someone special, the song’s dreamy, nostalgic tone has struck a chord—showing up in over a million TikTok videos, often soundtracking heartfelt, romantic montages.
He first got noticed in 2023 by posting covers on TikTok, and since then, things have taken off. Born in Canada and raised in Shanghai, Kai moved back to Vancouver for university, which he’s still finishing while juggling a whirlwind of opportunities, including festival performances across Asia and even a surprise feature on Indonesian Idol.
