Ivy Ai Wei new song "Ma Ma Hu Hu" literally translated as "mediocre", is a battle song that explores the difficulties and confusion she faced during her growth: whether facing the pressure of striving for perfection or questioning whether we are satisfied with the status quo, each of us is struggling to become the ideal "adult".
The song reflects on the bittersweet realization of growing up. She said that she once saw adulthood as distant and daunting but now finds herself unintentionally stepping into that role.
